About the Artist
Portraits by Fine Artist Sandy Reddig are currently held in more than 800 private and corporate collections throughout the United States. With over twenty year’s experience, Reddig is devoted to the skill of teaching and painting pastel and oil portraits. She has studied with noted portraitists including Daniel E. Greene, Albert Handell and Sally Strand and is continuously refining her pastel and oil painting technique.
Sandy Reddig meets with the client to get acquainted. Desired pose, number of subjects, size and other “matters of the heart” are discussed. The artist will take a series of photographs if the client has none of their own. Upon the client choosing a favorite photograph, the artist progresses with the painting in her studio. From these first encounters, Ms. Reddig begins to get to know her subject and combines the subject’s personality and “spirit” in the portrait. While the portrait is in progress, the artist sends a sketch of the client for approval. Ms. Reddig will help the client select appropriate matting and framing and is committed to making this an easy process. Her noted effectiveness in capturing her models’ personality results in portraits that are enchanting in their skillful completion and also in the portrayal of the spirit, personality and beauty of the model. Reddig is represented at Studios on High, 686 N. High Street, Gallery in the Short North Arts District in Columbus, Ohio.
"I am continuously refining my pastel technique and committed to working with each patron to make acquisitions or commissions an easy, enjoyable process.
"Oil & Pastel are the painting mediums in which I can create visual energy to stimulate the viewer's mood and involvement in the piece."
